PLANKED PORK CHOPS

Cedar Delivers Delicious Results

Fire & Flavor Cedar Grilling Planks add a new dimension to any food you cook, even though most people think they are only good for salmon.  We agree that planked salmon is super tasty, but we think this planked pork chop is pretty darn good, too. Try it for yourself!

Cedar Planked Asian Glazed Pork Chops

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Yields: 4 servings

Marinade:

½ cup low sodium soy sauce

¼ cup fresh orange juice

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons ketchup

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons sesame seeds

1 teaspoons sesame or vegetable oil

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Pork Chops:

4 center-cut pork chops, about ½  thick each

1 – Fire & Flavor Cedar Grilling Plank, soaked per package directions

FIRST  Combine marinade ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-heat. Cook for 8 minutes or until thickened; set aside to cool. Reserve ¼ cup of marinade for serving. Pour remaining glaze over pork chops. Marinate chops at room temperature for 15 minutes.

NEXT  While pork is marinating, preheat grill to 350°F or medium-low. Remove pork from marinade and discard remaining marinade. Remove soaked plank from liquid.

LAST  Place soaked plank on hot grill, close lid and heat for 3 minutes. Flip plank and place pork onto heated side of plank. Grill with lid closed for 12 minutes, or until pork registers 140°F on a meat thermometer. Remove pork from plank (do not leave plank on grill) and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with reserved sauce.

This glaze is delicious on a variety of foods such as chicken, salmon and tuna. Just add heat!
